I'm Keith, Elliot's dad, and I've been fixing cars since before he was born. I started at Vauxhall back in 1985 and spent over 40 years there as a senior technician and service manager. That's thousands of cars, just about every fault you can imagine, and a lot of manufacturer training along the way. I'm a fully qualified MOT assessor too, so I know exactly what keeps a car safe and legal on the road.

After four decades at a main dealer, I'd had my fill of targets and being pushed to upsell. What I love is the actual work: taking the time to find a fault properly, explaining it in plain English, and doing a careful job I'm happy to put my name to. When Elliot started Your Local Mechanic, joining him was the easiest decision I've made. It's the way I always wanted to work.

A fair few of my customers have stuck with me for years, some going right back to my Vauxhall days. They come back because they know I'll be honest with them, and because I treat every car like it matters, which it does. That careful, no-nonsense approach is what I bring to every job, whether it's a pre-MOT check or a clutch on your driveway.

I've lived in Hagley since 1980, so this is my community as much as my work. When you call, you'll get me or Elliot, and whoever picks up is the one who'll look after your car.
