The honest bit
We built it because of a £480 bill that started as a rattle.
That little rattle, or the light on the dash, can seem harmless right up until it isn't. Not long ago a customer came in with a minor issue that had quietly snowballed into a £480 bill, because getting it looked at felt like money spent on a car that seemed fine.
We hate seeing that happen, and it is exactly why the plan exists. If the check is free, you ring the day the rattle starts. If the scan is free, you do not drive around with a light on for a month hoping it clears. Most of the four-figure jobs we see started as something small that somebody drove through.
It is not for everyone. A nearly new car under warranty that barely needs anything is cheaper pay as you go, and the calculator further down will tell you that to your face. The plan is for people who use a mechanic more than once a year and would rather never wonder what a visit will cost.
Catch the problem while it is still small, instead of fixing it after it has broken. That is the whole idea.

The checks and the scan are the point. The member rates are what make it add up if the car needs work.
Free diagnostic scan when a light comes on
A warning light is a diagnostics job from £45 for everyone else. For members the scan and the honest verdict are included, so you never sit on a light because of the cost of reading it.
A free annual inspection
Once a year we go over the whole car properly, the way we would before an MOT, and tell you what is fine, what is coming, and what can wait.
Priority booking
Members go to the front of the diary. When the car will not start on a Monday morning, that is the benefit you will remember.
Labour at £45 an hour, not £65
Every job, every time, at the member rate. Brakes, clutches, servicing, the lot. Still quoted in writing before we start.
10 to 15% off parts and tyres
Parts and tyres at member prices, batteries too. The same quality parts we fit for everyone, with the discount shown on the invoice.

Everything we do to the car, when, and what we recommended, in your online account. Handy at MOT time and at resale.

How it works
From joining to cancelling, the whole thing
Step 1
Join online in a few minutes
Your details, your registration, and a card for the £20 a month. Payments are handled by Stripe, and there is no joining fee.
Step 2
Book your first free check
Ring, WhatsApp or book online. We come to your home or work, look the car over and tell you where it stands. That is your baseline.
Step 3
Use it whenever something feels off
A noise, a warning light, a soft pedal. Members do not wait to see if it goes away, because the check and the scan cost nothing. Most expensive repairs started as a small symptom somebody drove through.
Step 4
Member rates on any work, quoted first
If the check finds something, the repair is at £45 an hour with parts and tyres discounted, and you get a written price before we touch anything. Same as ever: nothing gets added without a phone call.
Step 5
Cancel whenever you like
There is no contract and no minimum term. Cancel from your account and your benefits run to the end of the month you have paid for.

Servicing, MOTs and repairs are paid for when they happen, at the member rates, with a written quote first. The plan covers the checks, the scan, the inspection and the priority.
Your driveway, mostly
The free checks, the diagnostic scan and the annual inspection all happen at your home or your workplace, anywhere across the Black Country. So does most of the work that follows: servicing, brakes, batteries and the day-to-day repairs.
Anything that needs a ramp, such as a clutch, a timing chain or a wet belt, is done at Unit 6, Turner Street, Dudley, with collection and return if you want it. The member rates apply wherever the job happens.
The mechanic who quotes your job is the one who works on your car. That does not change when you join.

The plan is for you if

- You would rather never wonder what a visit is going to cost
When we'd tell you not to bother
- A nearly new car under manufacturer warranty doing low miles. Pay as you go will almost certainly be cheaper, and we will say so if you ask
- Roadside recovery. The plan is not breakdown insurance, so keep your recovery cover. We do come out to no-starts at home and work
We would rather you stayed pay as you go and trusted us than joined and felt sold to.

What does the service plan cost?
£20 a month, paid by card, which is £240 a year. There is no joining fee, no contract and no minimum term.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel from your online account whenever you like, with no penalty. Your benefits run to the end of the month you have already paid for, and you are welcome back later.
Does the plan include my annual service or MOT?
No, and we would rather you knew that before you joined. Servicing, MOT tests and repairs are paid for when they happen, at the member rates: labour at £45 an hour and 10 to 15% off parts. What the plan includes for the £20 is the vehicle checks, the diagnostic scan, the annual inspection and the priority booking.
Car servicing pricesHow do I use a free vehicle check?
Ring, WhatsApp or book online, the same as any other job, and mention you are a member. We come to your home or workplace, look the car over, and tell you straight what it needs and what can wait. There is no limit on how often you ask.
Do the discounts apply to all work?
Yes. The member labour rate of £45 an hour applies to every job, and parts and tyres are 10 to 15% off across the board, batteries included. Every job is still quoted in writing before it starts.
Is it worth it for my car?
Use the calculator on this page. If you have a few hours of work a year and the odd warning light, the member rates cover the £240 on their own. If you drive a newer car that barely needs anything, you are paying for the checks, the inspection and the priority, and you may be better off pay as you go. We will tell you honestly which you are if you call.
Does it cover more than one car?
A plan covers one vehicle, the one you register when you join. If you run two or three cars in the household, call us and we will sort out the sensible way to cover them.
Is this breakdown cover?
No. The plan is not insurance and does not include roadside recovery, so keep your breakdown cover. What it does give you is priority booking and a free diagnostic when the car will not start at home or at work, which is where most no-starts happen.
