What does mobile mechanic mean with you?
It means we deal with the car where it is. We collect it from your home or your work and bring it back, free, anywhere in our service areas. If it won't start, we come out, find the fault for £45, and recover it to the workshop if it needs more than that.
The repair itself is done on a ramp at Unit 6, Turner Street, Dudley. A car on a ramp with the right tools gets fixed properly, in the dry, without a job stopping halfway because a bolt needs more than a trolley jack. A car on a wet drive gets a temporary fix and a second visit.
So we bring the car to the ramp, and we bring it back. You get the same two mechanics either way, and you don't lose a morning to it.

What we come out for
Four reasons we come to the car instead of collecting it:
A breakdown
It has stopped somewhere safe and it is going no further. We come to it and tell you straight what it needs.
A flat battery
We test the battery and the charging system together on the spot, and fit a battery if that is what is at fault.
A pre-purchase inspection
We check the car at the seller's address or on the forecourt, before any money changes hands.
Everything else, we collect. Ring and describe it and we'll tell you which one yours is. It's a thirty-second conversation and it saves you guessing.
What we do on the ramps
Repairs happen at Unit 6. This is the bulk of it.
- Diagnostics, on the ramp, with every module scanned and live data logged
- Servicing, oil and filter, plugs, filters, fluids and a full safety check
- Brakes, pads and discs front and rear, fluid and handbrake
- Batteries, alternators, starter motors and drive belts
- Sensors, wiring faults, coil packs and spark plugs
- Cooling, hoses, thermostats, coolant leaks and oil leaks
- Suspension, shocks, springs and link bars
- Clutch replacement and gearbox work generally
- Timing belts, wet belts and chains
- Exhaust work beyond a simple section
We collect the car, do the work at Unit 6 in Dudley, and bring it back. One mechanic, one price, and you do it all from your own front door.
What we don't do at all: accident damage, bodywork and paint. We'll point you at someone who does.
What does it save you?
The saving nobody puts on an invoice. You don't take a morning off, arrange a lift, or sit in a waiting room. We pick the car up from your house or your work, do the job, and bring it back. Collection and return is free across our service areas, with no radius and no minimum spend.
If it won't start, there is no call-out fee for coming to it. The diagnostic is £45, and if the car can't be driven we recover it to the workshop: £50 within 5 miles, quoted beyond that.
What you don't save is the workshop. The job still gets done on a ramp, with the right tools, and that is the point.

Coming out to a car that won't start
To test a car properly we need somewhere reasonably flat and safe: a driveway, a private car park, or a quiet residential street. What we can't do is work on a busy main road, on a steep slope, or anywhere we'd be in traffic.
If you're at work, check your employer is happy for us to be there. Once we know what is wrong, you either drive it in, we collect it, or we recover it. Tell us on the phone where the car is and we'll work out which.
Breakdowns and recovery
If the car has stopped somewhere safe, call us. We'll come out and find out what is wrong. Sometimes that is all it takes to get you home.
If it isn't, we'll say so honestly rather than fiddle with it for an hour on your money. Non-runners are recovered to Turner Street and finished there.

What we've sorted recently
Three garages, no answers, and a car stuck in limp mode
This customer had an engine warning light and a car that kept dropping into limp mode. He'd already been to three garages without a price or a date. Elliot diagnosed it, showed him the faults, and agreed a price before any decision. The quote covered the repair, parts and a full service, and the car left feeling tight like new.
A dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree: Peugeot 208
Tracing this properly led to a break in the wiring loom that was cutting off the ABS signal. No sensor would have fixed that on its own. We repaired the loom, fitted a fresh ABS sensor on the other side, and the customer paid for a wiring repair instead of a parade of parts.
Battery at the house, oil leak at the workshop
We fitted the battery at the customer's house, then took the car to the workshop for the full service and oil leak that needed the proper kit. The whole lot was done in a few hours, with one mechanic and one price.

Do you cover roadside breakdowns?
Yes. If the car has stopped somewhere safe, we'll come out and find out what is wrong. Sometimes that is enough to get it home. If it isn't, we recover it to Turner Street and finish the job there rather than fiddle with it at the kerb. Recovery is £50 within 5 miles of the workshop; further out, we confirm the price before we set off.
Which makes and models do you work on?
All makes and models, petrol, diesel and hybrid, from small cars to large vans. Keith spent 40+ years as a Vauxhall main-dealer technician, so Vauxhall and Opel drivers are in particularly familiar hands.
Can you do an MOT at my house?
No, and neither can anyone else. The official MOT has to be done at a DVSA-approved test centre. What we do instead is collect the car, take it for the test, sort anything that fails and bring it back.
