From catastrophic failure to running like new again! 🛠️
This VW Up came into the shop after a failed water pump belt caused severe engine overheating. Unfortunately, the heat took its toll on the head gasket, requiring a full strip-down. To do the job right, we pulled the head, had it skimmed to perfectionl, and replaced the head gasket over the freshly prepped block. Since it was already apart, we gave it the ultimate refresh: ✅ Brand new cambelt and water pump kit installed ✅ New water pump belt (preventing a repeat performance!) ✅ Full comprehensive service A major job, but this little 3-cylinder is back on the road and ready for many more miles. Don’t ignore those cambelt and water pump intervals! 🚗

We recently had this Audi in our workshop after a failed attempt at a brake service elsewhere. The previous mechanic lacked the necessary equipment to handle the electronic parking brake system, leading to a calliper with no piston inside it. Mini Cooper Timing Chain Service
Complete timing chain replacement on a 2013 Mini Cooper. Chain had failed due to lack of maintenance causing engine issues. New timing chain kit fitted with oil service. Job completed by Elliot, vehicle running perfectly.
Ford Focus 1.6 – Timing Belt and Water Pump Replacement
This Ford Focus came in for a timing belt service. The timing belt, tensioner, and water pump were all replaced as part of preventative maintenance. The old belt showed signs of wear, and replacing it ensures reliability and avoids costly engine damage. Once reassembled, the timing was set precisely, and the engine now runs smoothly and quietly.
VW Golf GTD – Oil Pressure Sensor and Leak Repair
This VW Golf GTD came in with an oil leak and warning light on the dash. After inspection, Elliot found oil migrating through the oil pressure sensor and contaminating the connector — a common issue on these engines. We replaced the sensor, cleaned the affected area, and checked for any further leaks. Once reassembled, the system was tested and confirmed leak-free, with all fault codes cleared.
SEAT Ibiza – Oil Filter Housing and Cooler Replacement
This SEAT Ibiza came in with an oil leak from the front of the engine. On inspection, we found the oil filter housing and cooler assembly were leaking — a common issue on these engines. Elliot replaced the complete unit, fitted new seals, and carried out a full oil and filter service. The leak is now resolved and the engine running perfectly again.
Vauxhall Astra GTC 1.4T – Boost Leak and PCV Repair
This Astra GTC came in with poor performance and a loud hissing noise under boost. After diagnostic checks, our Vauxhall expert Keith traced the issue to a split breather hose and failed PCV valve within the rocker cover — a common fault on the 1.4 turbo engine. The affected parts were replaced, boost pressure restored, and the car is now running perfectly again.
