What can I say?? Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. That dreaded feeling you have when you need to find a new mechanic and worry about if you're getting a cowboy or going to be ripped off, well that's one thing I'm confident is not gonna happen with Elliot. So my car engine warning light come on, keeps going in limp mode practically unusable I've tried about 3 other garages prior to this one none would give me idea of prices, availability etc I found your local mechanic online and dropped them a message via WhatsApp got a response within 30 mins booked to come out to my house the next day for diagnostics. Elliot kept me updated did diagnostics, showed me faults, explained what needs to be done and how much he could do it for. No pressure to use him it was my informed decision his quote was a lot less than I expected and that included repairs, parts and a full service as that was due agreed. Elliot was flexible to my needs and availability fitted around me, kept me updated throughout and when I drove away my car felt like a new car again everything felt tight like when you get a new car, engine sounds quieter all round satisfied customer. I have found my new go to mechanic. Straight forward honest advice, flexible to my needs, good fair prices and all round genuine bloke if you want a trusted person who isn't trying to mug you off and scam you out of as much as they can then use these guys highly recommend

From start to finish it has been a positive first time experience with here. Wednesday - RAC came out, couldn't do anything other than provide a report … expected me to wait 8 hours for a tow in extreme hot conditions with no air con as I was told not to attempt to turn my car back on due to faults ! Anyway, messaged here, replied instantly ; got a tow out to me within less than 30 mins for a reasonable price. He then got the parts and repaired my Jaguar f pace within 2 days (despite it been extremely hot right now with this heatwave !) he explained everything needed and the reasons for each cost, whilst trying to keep costs as fair as possible. Very happy with the customer service and service provided, very knowledgeable, friendly and fair ! I will be signing up with them and ditching my rac membership . Definitely recommend here , very grateful for the quick turn around

This mechanic was amazing. He was up front with everything. I had my cam belt go. He got someone with a flat bed to collect my car and take to his garage thursday evening. Within a day he got in touch to tell me the damage and cost. Which was very reasonable considering the work and hours needed to fix.had my car back by Wednesday completely sorted. Even showed me the broken parts and the work carried out

I phoned Elliot early Wednesday morning as I woke up and discovered my car had an oil leak. I needed this urgently as I use my car for work. Elliot came out the same day and arranged for my car to be recovered, the problem diagnosed and fixed . He contacted me the same day, confirming the price, and assured me he would fix it as quickly as possible. He kept me updated the entire time and, I had my car delivered back to me for a fair price by 10am on Friday morning. I would use him again.

My cam belt went on my car the other day, I called the mechanic and he came out swiftly. Told me it was the cam belt and he arranged to tow it and repair it.He dealt with the issue within a few days, reasonably priced and bought my car back today. Now back on the road!!Highly recommend .👍👍👍

I contacted 'Your Local Mechanic' on 24/02/25 due to car problems. I had not used the service before. However, I have to say I was well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. My car got looked at the same day (in the afternoon), parts ordered and the car was fixed the next morning. The car was also returned to me. Such a lovely team, I would definitely recommend and will use their services again. Fantastic & speedy service

This was my first time using this mechanic and Elliot was fantastic, I cannot fault him. My gearbox completely packed in and Elliot was able to get my car recovered, source a new gearbox and get my car back on the road within 2 days. DODGY AVOID

Wouldn't even review with a rating. Turned up to look at the car. Then text messages me to tell me he can't look at it due to having a health condition and the car was too dirty for him to look at so he went ahead and left my car key under the drivers side tyre. I then called to ask why he would not have notified me about the health condition as we could have arranged for the vehicle to be cleaned, And why he thought it was ok to just leave my car key where he saw fit, he proceeded by ending the call. Unfortunately I work with animals and the car has not been driven for a week. He was asked to contact when on the way which he did not. He then left and continued to message me about the state my car was in and how no car should be in the condition mine was in and how by the sounds of it nobody would turn up to look at my car, in fact I'd stated when contacting this garage via their website I had been let down by my garage nothing was expanded further and how as a technician his work environment should be safe and hygienic which I completely agree with. My problem is if he thinks it should be safe for him why did he not call me to say all this instead of messaging it to me and leaving my key where he deemed safe and not having the common decency to hand it over safely back to me. Not only did he waste my time but his own (audacity of running away and messaging me) AVOID by the reviews of this place clearly didn't hold much hope after experiencing the same ignorance by this so called mechanic!

I contacted Your Local Mechanic regarding an oil leak, which I noticed was getting worse on the driveway at home. I found them to be very efficient. Good communication, they kept me well informed as the job progressed, they had to order parts, but even so the job was still completed the same day. I was extremely pleased with the service they provided to me.

Did not turn up, tried calling and contacting via live chat and no response.Eventually got through to him once and said he would call be back, he never did. Has ignored my calls since and have heard nothing.I cancelled work to make sure I was in for him, so I have lost a whole day of work, losing money and lost a whole day waiting around.Terrible service. Would give a zero star review if I could.

Did not show up, no phone call to say they couldn't show. Tried ringing 7 or 8 times and no answer. When I finally got through one time I was told someone would get back to me and never did, no one has answered the phone since and I can't even get a reply on the live chat. Awful service, I even had to cancel my shift from work to make sure I was home, so I've lost money and wasted my day. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I had an awful grinding noise start on my Vauxhall Antara but could not identify exactly where it was coming from. I took the car to several garages and a transmission specialist but none of them could give me an answer. I looked on line and called your local mechanic and spoke to Elliot in Stourbridge. He told me to take the car over and he would take a look. We went out for a test drive and Elliot identified the problem almost immediately. Been let down by other mechanic in the area saying is too complicated or will cost me around 3k to repair my car . I’d developed what appeared a major fault to my engine, and needed an accurate diagnosis to establish the problem. I googled ‘local vehicle technician with diagnostic equipment’ and I was amazed Elliot was so close to DY6 area and he got here the same day and was confident of the problem. He then put me in touch with a local recovery expert who safely transported my car to his garage. In a short space of time my car was sorted with a new cam belt kit / new water pump fitted and the car was running perfectly. Elliot is very Informative and will answer questions and help any way he can. One thing I have learned is GET YOUR CAR SERVICED this was my downfall ......Elliot does that too!!! Will now be using him on both cars 5* service.

i tried various garages but no one really seemed to be bothered to help, i gave elliot a call and within the hour somebody was out to me they managed to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road the same day at a very competitive price, i couldnt be more grateful!

Do not believe the fake reviews. I was charged for a problem they did not even fix. When I called to rectify the problem he said I’d now need a new part for £90 for the part plus fitting again. I’ve confirmed with various other mechanics part actually costs £60 and fitting should be less especially after they failed to fix in the first place. They have taken advantage of the situation and ripped me off.

Fab job by fab mechanic

My car developed braking problems and my regular mechanic let me down by not solving the problems. Calls to other garages were not returned. After calling Elliot, he came out on the same day of the call, and gave me assurance that the job would be completed the next day. A vital part was obtained the next morning and everything was working again by lunchtime. Elliot served me very well. I wish I had called him earlier.

Alternator replaced at short notice...

Had an alternator about to pack up on me and working some distance from home and needing the car I had to take a day off work to get it sorted. Having tried a number of the larger usual suspects and local backstreet garages, none of whom could fit me in for the next day or two, I decided to try a mobile mechanic.This was the first one I tried and got a call back as requested from Elliot within the hour. He was about to travel back from a job some distance away. He gave me a rough eta and turned up on time as promised. Quickly diagnosed the problem and sourced the part at a reasonably price giving me an all-in priced. There were a couple of complications which he sorted at no extra expense and he got me back up and running in a couple of hours. Car now runs like a dream.Polite, friendly, helpful, explains all and does the job quickly and good to his word. I cannot fault.

I had a problem with my Saab losing…

I had a problem with my Saab losing power. I called Elliot after reading all the good reviews, he came to my house and immediatley diagnosed a faulty EGR valve, after he replaced it - same problem. I tested the "faulty" valve, it was working as it should. Then he decided it was a faulty DPF, after he replaced it - same problem! It cost me around £600 and I still had the same problem. He refused to come to my house and insisted that I take the car to him knowing that I work full time and its difficult to take time off. I would definitely NOT recommend this guy.

Be wary of cheap parts when paid for…

Be wary of cheap parts when paid for expensive parts on your vehicle! Rude and swore at me when called to question why put cheap parts on car and put phone down when paid for expensive part and refused to give me a receipt. Was told to get parts off vehicle then he would refund what paid. Cross threaded bolts/screws by putting them on too tight had to go elsewhere to remove them and got to replace them as damaged. Wrong lubricant etc used. Call him self a mechanic????Tried to fob me off saying accountant has to refund when that's a load of rubbish soon refunded me when said would go to trading standards.

Talked to him on the phone about central locking on jag xf. Said he'd phone me next day to arrange repair. Never phoned. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. And texted him next day. Never even had the decency to text back. His loss as I wanted other work done. Courtesy means a lot to me.
