No heater blower since last October, and nobody willing to do the job. On a 308 most of the dash has to come out first. Elliot did it as a call-out in about two hours.

So this job was a Peugeot 308, 2015 plate.
Customer reported that there was no heater blower working, and apparently it hadn’t been working since October last year, but they couldn’t find anybody to do the job.
Um, I can understand why really, because on these Peugeot 308s you have to remove most of the dash, steering wheel, steering column, clutch pedal, brake pedal, all the housing, glove box, everything has to come out just to gain access to the, to the blower motor.
Quite a big job, but we managed to do it as a call-out job.
Probably took us about 2 hours, put it all back together, and that one was done.
On the 308 the blower motor sits behind most of the dashboard. The steering wheel, steering column, clutch and brake pedals, the housing and the glove box all come out before you can reach it. That is why this owner went nearly a year without finding anyone to take it on, and why what a blower job costs depends far more on the car than on the part.
The blower is what pushes air across the windscreen. Without it the heater cannot clear a misted or frosted screen, however hot the engine gets. Through a summer that is an annoyance. On the first cold, wet morning it means sitting on the drive waiting for the glass to clear, or setting off without a clear view, which you are not allowed to do.
Heater faults get lived with for months because nobody needs the heater in July. Then the weather turns and everyone rings at once. If yours has stopped blowing, or only works on one speed, book it while there is still time to fit it in. We check the heater and demister as part of every winter check for exactly this reason.
