Book your serviceIf you're in Sedgley, you're closer to our workshop than anyone else we serve — a few minutes down the A459. You can drop the car at Unit 6, Turner Street yourself, or we'll come and collect it for nothing and bring it back when it's done. Either way the work happens on a ramp, not on your drive.
The menu is simple. A Basic service costs £120 — oil, filter and the essential safety checks — and a Interim service costs £199, adding a proper inspection of brakes, suspension and steering. Everything that's in each one is listed on the main car servicing page, and if the service turns up a fault we can run diagnostics while the car is still with us rather than booking it in twice.
Servicing a car that lives on the ridge
Sedgley sits high — the village climbs toward Sedgley Beacon, and the lanes around Beacon Hill drop away steeply on both sides. Cars that live up here do more low-gear, high-effort work than flat-town cars ever do, and it shows at service time: brake pads and discs wear quicker, clutches take more strain, and short uphill runs never give the battery a full charge. It's why we pay particular attention to brakes and the charging system on Sedgley jobs.
We collect from anywhere sensible across the village and beyond — driveways in Woodsetton and Gospel End, the older streets near the centre, works car parks, even out past Brockswood Animal Sanctuary on the Catholic Lane side. If you're in Upper or Lower Gornal or The Straits, you're covered too. For a car that won't start, where we come out to you, our Sedgley mobile mechanic hub has the full picture, and you can meet Elliot & Keith before you book.
Sedgley servicing questions
How does a Sedgley service work?
We collect the car, service it on the ramp at Unit 6, Turner Street, and bring it back. Sedgley is a few minutes up the A459 from the workshop, so it is a short run either way. Ring and we will tell you which day we can take it.
I live on one of the lanes below Beacon Hill — can you get to me?
Yes. All we need is somewhere safe to pick the car up from and put it back. Mention the street when you book and we will tell you straight away whether it works or whether a nearby spot is easier.
Do you collect from the Gornals, Woodsetton and The Straits?
The whole DY3 postcode — Upper and Lower Gornal, Woodsetton, Gospel End and The Straits included. Home or workplace, it makes no difference, and there is no charge for the collection or the return.
Should the hills change what I ask for at service time?
Worth a thought, yes. The climbs up toward Sedgley Beacon are hard on brakes and clutches, so the Interim service at £199 — which inspects brakes, suspension and steering properly — earns its keep here. The Basic at £120 still covers the oil, filter and core safety checks.
